What Is Riding Against Cancer 2024?

Riding Against Cancer 2024 is a movement fueled by the compassion and determination of individuals who want to make a difference.

From 17th August to 23rd August 2024, a group of road bikers will be cycling a grand distance of 1400 kilometres from Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire to Ellon, Aberdeenshire. 

Led by organiser Russell Lord, alongside Matt Stone, Rob Morgan and Ian Morgan, Riding Against Cancer is an event created to encourage hope across communities. 

With support from Vehicle Driver Michael Floyd, Event Manager Laura Stone and ‘Chango Mutney’, the RAC mascot dog, Riding Against Cancer 2024 celebrates ordinary people achieving extraordinary feats in the battle against cancer. 

With a mission to raise £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support, this event aims to honour the memory of loved ones lost to cancer while offering hope to those who are still fighting. This incredible endeavour isn’t about covering miles on a map, but rather covering ground in the fight against cancer.

Mapping Out Riding Against Cancer 2024

On 17th August 2024, the riders of Riding Against Cancer 2024 will begin their seven-day journey from Milton Keynes. With every mile they conquer, we will be right there beside them in spirit, fuelling their journey with our unwavering support.

Winding through bustling cities and the tranquil countryside, from Birmingham to Nottingham and Sheffield to Manchester, each day will bring new challenges and triumphs for the resilient RAC riders. 

Day after day, the team will press on, from Manchester to Huddersfield to Leeds to Bradford, spreading awareness for cancer in every kilometre covered. Continuing their journey from Carlisle to Edinburgh and then Stirling to Dundee, our admiration for them is huge.

On Day 7, they are scheduled to arrive at their final destination in Ellon, concluding the event and bringing their incredible journey to an end.

How to Join the Ride

While you may not be able to ride the 1400 kilometres yourself, you can certainly still show your support in various ways.

With the famous raffle making a comeback, there are plenty of amazing prizes up for grabs. The best part is that you will receive a free raffle ticket for every £5 you donate!
